What is the weight limit for checking-in a luggage on an airplane?

I have heard recently that they have put a new rule that there was a limit on how heavy you can check something in. Is this true? I am flying Delta.|||Delta's basic limit is 50 pounds per item (70 lbs if ticket is purchased in Brazil). Unless you are flying to Key West, you get to check in 2 luggage of (max) 50 lbs each.

However, if you are willing to pay, you can exceed that limit to upto 100 lbs. (see the links below)

Remember that there is a size limitation as well.|||most airlines its 50 pounds but check their website.|||Most airlines have weight limitation on how heavy a cheked-in suitcase or bag can be. Try not to pack more than 35 kg or 70 lbs in one suitecase, because you might have problems at the check in. This is especially true when you come home from America, and you are full with gifts and all the cool stuff you bought for yourself, and it's easy to go over the weight limit. Best is to call the airline you are flying with and ask|||I have to pack for my boss when she goes on trips so it is 50 pounds.|||Most airlines are 50 pounds but if u are a 1st class passenger up to 70 pounds in many airlines.
