Can you ask for temporary credit limit increase in a credit card?
I have a Visa with a $2,000 credit limit and I am planning to go overseas for 2 weeks. |||Worth a try but I doubt it would be temporary. They want nothing more than for you to get and stay in debt, forever. The most you can manage (min monthly payment), the better for them.

Im trying to limit the number of characters that can be entered into my showInputDiaglog box but really don't know how to go about it. I've got the input box and output box working but need to add something to limit the amount of characters and display an error message if the amount is invalid.

The choice here is to give in a String, and a JTextField. We modify the JTextField with its own Document model and override a single method. Here I chose insertString, IF we under the char limiit. Otherwise ... don't do nothing.

How do I know that the limit of a function does not exist when I am given a graph or a table?
PLZ HELP!!!|||You know it exists when the graph flows neatly to a particular point -- the limit. If the graph goes to infinity, or if it heads to different values from different sides, or something even messier happens, the limit doesn't exist.
Same idea with a table.
Basically, having a limit is being "well-behaved". Not having a limit is being a teenager ... I mean, being the opposite of "well-behaved". :D :D :D

Anytime you go past that 50%, it serves as a negative factor to your credit file. Does China limit the number of christian missionaries because of the hypocrisy of the christians?
China limits the number of missionaries I know, and probably in part because christianity is a western religion, but is part of the reason because the christians pretend to want to teach English or doctor the poor or whatever but really only want to sell their product? It's a good idea China has to limit the numbers but why let any of them in at all? Is that a deal they made with the US government? It is appealing that China perceives the hypocrisy and won't allow much of it, either way.|||China doesn't need Christian missionaries. Chinese ppl have their own beliefs, Confucius and Dao, which are both older than Christianity.
btw, English teachers selling their religion is totally illegal in China.|||Christianity started off as a Middle Eastern religion. So it is not totally accurate to
say it is a western religion. Admittedly it is primarily via the western countries

I am from BC Canada and was looking to see if the amount rent can be raised for Commercial property is limited or not. I got a letter from a credit card company saying that they have reduced my credit limit without any previous warning. Is there a limit to how often can they do this? Can they do it how ever many times they wish? For example, once every six months/year?

Is requesting an increase in a credit card limit treated the same as an application for new credit for FICO?
I know that applying for a new card will reduce my FICO, and that increasing credit limits (while keeping debt amounts constant) will increase my score - but this would not be the case if requesting the increase in credit limit is treated as a new credit card application?|||Depends. Some banks do a hard pull on your reports and check your scores which is called a hard pull. Sometimes they do a soft pull. A hard pull is a new inquiry on your report just like a new application and has to be authorized by you. A soft pull isn't a new inquiry and can be done by your card companies periodically. Soft pull is like account maintainance. Chase always does a hard pull as far as I know for CLI. When you request your CLI, ask them to do a soft pull and not a hard pull and see if they will do that. I tried this with RBS, they dont do soft pulls. Capital One and HSBC did and increased my credit without a hard pull. Cards that offer automatic CLIs tend to do it via soft pulls. As long as it is not a hard pull, it wont count against your FICO scores. Read the difference in the following article.

Is it better for your credit to have several credit cards with moderate limit, or one card with a high limit?
I have zero debt. I also have several credit cards. I am wondering how it will affect my credit to request the highest limit for each card, or if I should cancel all but 2 and have those with high spending limits. Along the same lines, how does "available" credit affect one's credit score negatively or positively? If I get a $50,000 limit on a card (with 0 balance) but say, go to buy a car, will I be denied because I have too much credit out there?|||It's better for your credit to have several cards with modern limit, as the FICO formula used by the credit bureaus consider the number of credit lines in good credit (by their type, e.g. revolving credit, installment loans etc). A lower number of credit lines will result in a lower score (since you'll have more limited history).
Obviously that assume all of them are in good standing - if they're not, the picture changes dramatically.

How fast can you go over a speed limit without getting ticketed, in general?
Also, what if you're speeding in order to go with the flow of traffic?
Usually I hear that if you're going only 5 mph over the posted limit, a cop wouldn't stop you. I live in a town where the basic speed limit is 25-35 mph. On a 4 lane street the speed limit is 25 mph when children are present. What's the speed limit when no children are present? My horses always get swarmed by bugs in the summer, so I am trying to figure out what I should do to prevent them as much as possible. What kind of fly sprays do you use on your horses? They have to be hung outside of the stalls and high up, or off of the barn eaves outside. I also use the sticky rolls of fly paper in some areas. I tried the fly predators which are tiny bugs that you release and they eat fly larvae on horse manure, and it didn't make enough of a difference to warrant continuing in my situation.|||Keep the manure bin covered, remove all manure quickly %26amp; frequently.
Remove all standing water.. don't use anything where water can pool %26amp; invite larvae.
Clean water troughs daily.

I'm currently losing weight for the sake of going skydiving. I was wondering if the weight limit was negotiable. From what I've read, the first jump is a tandem jump. Then you will only be a few hours of being able to do you solo to actually gain your PPL. if you want to go further past this you can get a night rating which means you are allowed to fly at night after so many flying hours of training in nighttime conditions.|||training can start earliest at 18 and say 2years for a CPL(commercial pilots license) that makes it 20|||16 to solo 17 to get licensed. You can start training now. I started lessons when i was 15, soloed when I was 16 and got my license when I was 17. I actually almost got my pilots license before my drivers license. What's the limit value of a package I can receive through the mail without paying taxes for it?

Here's the thing...I wanted to buy an electronic gadget online in Europe and have it sent here to my home in Connecticut, US. I was wondering what is the limit of the package so it goes through US Customs without being processed for importing fees or something like that.

If the item is dutiable then Customs will collect the duty. They sometimes pass on low value items as the duty may not be worth the cost to collect it.|||TFTP

What is the alcohol limit for new drivers?
I understand that there is a probation period for new drivers of two years where you are only allowed 6 points on your license. Is there a different alcohol limit during this period for new drivers?|||The alcohol limit is the same for all drivers, regardless of how long they've been driving.
Driving over the limit carries a compulsory minimum 12 month driving ban, which could be more depending on the circumstances such as the level of alcohol, whether there was an accident, etc, in addition there would be a fine, community service or even imprisonment.
As a probationer driver you your licence would be revoked and you would have to take a second, more stringent driving test at your own expense before you could have your license back.|||As others have stated, get it into your mind that no alcohol is the limit, think about it, even if someone hits you and the police are involved you automatically are breathalysed. alcohol affects different people in different ways. Best off staying clear, i heard a story recently where someone ran over a child after just half a lager, the parents and locals smelt the beer on him and was promptly beaten up as a "drunk driver" followed by criminal allegations.|||I don't agree with those laws such as not being allowed after dark and not being allowed to travel with their buddies. That aside, assuming the new drivers are 16, than they are not allowed to drink anyway.
I would assume the limit for under 21 drivers is any alcohol at all.|||its the same for all drivers regardless of experience. however i do suggest that as a newcomer to the roads you should be extra cautious of yourself due to your lack of experience. from what i remember its 1 pint for a man..as for women i dont know. as dont have to worry bout it!!!|||As you are asking from the UK and not the states the driving age is 17 and not 16.
