Can you ask for temporary credit limit increase in a credit card?

I have a Visa with a $2,000 credit limit and I am planning to go overseas for 2 weeks. |||Worth a try but I doubt it would be temporary. They want nothing more than for you to get and stay in debt, forever. The most you can manage (min monthly payment), the better for them.

How to limit the number of characters in showInputDiaglog?

Im trying to limit the number of characters that can be entered into my showInputDiaglog box but really don't know how to go about it. How do you know when the limit of a function is undefined?

How do I know that the limit of a function does not exist when I am given a graph or a table?

PLZ HELP!!!|||You know it exists when the graph flows neatly to a particular point -- the limit. If the graph goes to infinity, or if it heads to different values from different sides, or something even messier happens, the limit doesn't exist.

Same idea with a table.

Basically, having a limit is being "well-behaved". Not having a limit is being a teenager ... I mean, being the opposite of "well-behaved". :D :D :D

What happens when a protein is above the exclusion limit of an ion exchange column?

How much is too much when it comes to reaching your credit limit?

I know that credit card companies don't want you to come to close to your limit when using your credit card. How much of your credit limit should you use? For example, if you have a $5,000.00 credit limit, how much of that is enough?|||You should never use over 30% of your limit which in your example would be $1,500.00.

Even better is to pay your cards off in full every month that way you never pay interest.|||Actually, you are asking three different questions here. First, the credit card companies want you to come as close to your limit as you can without going over...that increases the amount of finance charges and increases their profit. From a consumer perspective, you want to have absolutely no balance that carries from one month to another, which avoids that finance charge. From the perspective of applying for additional credit such as a mortgage, the company you are applying to would like to see something in the order of 1/3 of the limit or less, which shows them that you can handle credit responsibly. Obviously, there are exceptions (purchase of a major item such as a freezer or other appliances might push you over the 50% mark which can be explained and mitigated by not charging more) and when applying for credit, this should be mentioned.|||It isn't how much of your limit you use, it's the balances you carry. If you max out your card but pay the balance in full every month, the credit card company will probably increase your limit.

Carrying balances of more than 30% hurts your score. Pay off the balance and your score rebounds.

Instead of worrying about how much you can put on the card, worry about only charging what you can afford to pay in full every monht. Just because you have a $5K limit, doesn't mean you have to use a certain amount.|||I think one should make allowance for Interest and Other Charges when considering how much of your allowed credit is enough. If you do not, should you go over your limit even as a result of these charges, you will still be penalized (additional charges) for spending over your limit. I think 90% of your limit is just enough|||i loved economics in class and talking to most of the teachers and other people they all told me the same thing when dealing with your credit limit the most you should spend on it is about 40% so in your case $2000 an more than that and your interest will start to go up

What is the speed limit of a united states freeway?

What is the speed limit of a united states freeway? And...are there any other roads in the country where you can drive above that speed limit? If so, what is the speed limit of that road?|||depends on which part of the U.S. you are driving in. On I-80 in the midwest the speed limit is 75mph and in some parts in Utah it is 80mph, now everyone in the US loves to speed so we usually drive 10mph above the speed limit.|||In urban areas, the speed limit on American expressways can be either 50 or 55. On I-20 on the west side of Atlanta between I-75/85 and I-285, the speed limit is 50. Elsewhere around the ATL, the speed limit is 55. In rural places, the speed limit is 65. REALLY rural areas, where the interstatesoften narrow to two lanes, the speed limit is 70 or 75. I even heard of one stretch of interstate in Texas where people can go 80.|||The speed limits on US freeways vary greatly from state to state and depending upon the type of region you're traveling in. For example in many densely populated areas the freeway speed limit is only 55mph while in most rural areas its at least 65mph. In many western states such as Colorado, Arizona,Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, North %26amp; South Dakota, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada etc it's 75mph The state with the highest speed limit however is Texas with an 80mph limit on long sections of interstate 10 %26amp; 20. Hope this helps!|||All speed limits are determined by the state and there are no road that i know of that you can drive above the speed limit since, at least where i live, all country roads are 55, no matter how far out of town.|||In most areas, the speeds posted are between 55 and 70 MPH. We have on Autobahn here as in Germany with NO speed limits!

What is the basis of the limit of the president to two elected terms?|||George Bush|||Because FDR never left until he died|||Faina, alot has to do with age and health. And besides, 2 terms is enough dont ya think?|||Well, when they set it, the legislators used the years George Washington was in office as their standard. "If it's good enough for George Washington, it should stand at 8" was the phrase used.|||The Republicans couldn't get FDR out of office.|||After Franklin Roosevelt was elected to four consecutive terms, the conservatives in Congress passed an amendment (the 22nd) limiting the president to two terms. They wanted to repeal it to give Reagan a shot at a 3rd term, but they couldn't get the votes together.|||This was done following the election of Franklin Delano Roosevelt to 4 terms (1932, 36, 40, and 44). Although he only served 12 years, lawmakers were afraid of a system where one person could gain too much power in our system of checks-and-balances. Hence the 22nd Amendment being ratified in 1951. Although the idea had been proposed as far back as George Washington.|||so the Presidency cannot perpetuate itself into a Dictatorship. the US is based on a system of checks and balances and seperation of powers to prevent any one person or party having absolute rule|||A term limit is a legal restriction that limits the number of terms a person may serve in a particular elected office. Term limits are found usually in presidential and semi-presidential systems as a method to curb the potential for dictatorships, where a leader effectively becomes "president for life".|||because the republicans were jealous that FDR kept being re elected by the people, and so they decided that the only way they would ever have a chance of getting one of their 2nd rate corrupt republican canidates elected ,would be to limit the term of FDR and the presidentcy.

personally I think it`s wrong to tell the american people that they can`t vote for whom they want as president, but have to settle for some 2nd rate contender merely because the person they want to vote for has already served 2 terms.

Government of the people, by the people and for the people.|||Washington set the unofficial precedent for serving only two terms. FDR was the only president who served more than two terms because of the War(WWII). In 1951 the 22nd amendment to the Constitution was ratified officially limiting the presidency to two terms. This country was founded because of the need to escape England which was ruled by a king. The last thing we would want is to be governed by a king, even a benevolent one that was elected by the people. Bill Clinton is attempting to get around the 22nd amendment by getting his wife elected and then having a say in her decisions.

How does going over my credit limit affect my credit score?

I recently went over my credit limit by $10 and noticed that the credit card account (Cap One) was reported as delinquent on my equifax credit report? How can this happen and what are the consequences to my credit rating/score? Thanks for your response.|||It's always best that you stay 50% and below your credit limit. Anytime you go past that 50%, it serves as a negative factor to your credit file. Once creditors/lenders see this, it makes them then think you're living beyond your means and you're actually charging something in which you cannot afford. As for this being classified as a delinquent item, it will stay on your file for 7 years from the time it went delinquent. No one can tell you exactly how many points your score will drop. And here's a little hint: "No one knows for sure exactly how credit scoring works!"|||Being close to the max or overdrawing your credit card account can have adverse affects on your FICO credit score(s). This is because 30% of your FICO score is based on debt utilization, or how much of the debt you are using. When you are using more than 50% of your revolving debt that sets off flags and makes it look as though you are too dependent on the debt.

The first step is to get balance back under the limit. Then you need to work on getting the balance on the card under 50%. As a general rule your FICO score is best helped when you are using no more than 10% of your credit limit when the statement balance is reported to the credit bureaus.|||before you worry about your credit score you need to worry about your wallet.

Since you went over your limit, you MIGHT be in violation of the terms of your agreement with your credit card company.

So you will be smacked with the over the limit fee (probably about $35.00)%26gt; and you might have to pay a late fee if you paid the minimum amount. If you did not pay the usual amount (plus the late fee) then you WILL be reported as late. If this happens, look for your interest rate to go up so the minimum payment that was 200 before your extra ten bucks could turn into a new payment of 300 buck with your over the limit fee, your late fees and your new interest rate.

Now onto your credit.

Credit scores are comprised of a few things but one of them is the limit on your card verus available credit.

The ideal amount is 35 percent or less. Meaning you dont want to have more than 34 percent of your credit limit being utlized. If you go over that amount your credit starts to drop. since you have NO available credit on this card, your score will be negatively affected.

NOt sure by how much since credit is a combination of factors, how much THIS will impact your score depends on what else you have going on with your other trade lines.

I so hope you make a decision to cut up the credit cards.

Use your stimulus payment to pay down as much debt as you can.

Best of luck to you

Does China limit the number of christian missionaries because of the hypocrisy of the christians?

China limits the number of missionaries I know, and probably in part because christianity is a western religion, but is part of the reason because the christians pretend to want to teach English or doctor the poor or whatever but really only want to sell their product? It's a good idea China has to limit the numbers but why let any of them in at all? Is that a deal they made with the US government? The credit line is determined by credit worthiness and a number of other factors.

The reason MasterCard won't give you answer when you ask is because it is not possible to determine a credit limit by speaking to someone on the phone. Whomever you spoke to did not wish to be heard as committing a particular limit to you by announcing maximum limits.|||The first MasterCard I got in 1973 had a $300 limit and my dad had to co-sign. How often can credit card companies reduce my limit on my credit card?

I got a letter from a credit card company saying that they have reduced my credit limit without any previous warning. Is there a limit to how often can they do this? Can they do it how ever many times they wish? For example, once every six months/year?

Also, Is there any way to see it coming?|||They can increase or decrease your credit limit at any time and for any reason....as often as they wish.|||Credit card companies are back stepping with todays economy. Even people with great credit are seeing the same effects. The reason your getting the letter is probably because your debt to credit is over 30%. The split used to be 50/50 meaning you could have 50% of the credit used with 50% available but the economy has pushed it down to 30%.. By the way the big credit card scam now is that they charge you a monthly fee to monitor your credit. What most people dont know is Credit card companies pull your credit every 3 to 6 months anyhow. But they big identity theft scare is marketed so well that consumer pay for it. If your a victim of identity theft it doesnt matter if you find out today or 6 months from now the damage is already done. 1 Credit card company can make as much as 180 million a year just off of credit watch programs they charge you.|||There is technically no limit on how many time they can do it, but I wouldn't expect them to keep doing it. Is requesting an increase in a credit card limit treated the same as an application for new credit for FICO?

I know that applying for a new card will reduce my FICO, and that increasing credit limits (while keeping debt amounts constant) will increase my score - but this would not be the case if requesting the increase in credit limit is treated as a new credit card application?|||Depends. Some banks do a hard pull on your reports and check your scores which is called a hard pull. Sometimes they do a soft pull. A hard pull is a new inquiry on your report just like a new application and has to be authorized by you. A soft pull isn't a new inquiry and can be done by your card companies periodically. Soft pull is like account maintainance. Chase always does a hard pull as far as I know for CLI. When you request your CLI, ask them to do a soft pull and not a hard pull and see if they will do that. I tried this with RBS, they dont do soft pulls. Capital One and HSBC did and increased my credit without a hard pull. Cards that offer automatic CLIs tend to do it via soft pulls. As long as it is not a hard pull, it wont count against your FICO scores. Read the difference in the following article.

What is the lower age limit for sexual relationships as stated in the bible?

If the bible does not stipulate a lower age limit, why is it that secular societies rather than theocracies have introduced one?|||Guys, seriously, Answer the damn question, ok, instead of waxing lyrical about sex outside marriage and "eroding moral fibre".. Wut? So it's ok for two 9 yr olds to get married?

Let's rephrase: What is the lowest age people can get married in the bible, or does it not state one?|||The Bible commands us to "flee youthful lust" so it should not be fueled from lust.

and also do everything "decently and in order" 1 Corth. 14:40

A decent man would obey the "law of the Land" and marry someone who is legally of age.

|||Limit is marriage, not specifically an age limit. The Bible does not provide an age limit for marriage. What you can learn from the Bible is that marriage is for grown ups, mature people, not for kids.

Societies of different times have determined when a person is mature enough to get married. I am sure that an 14 or 16 years old person of the first century was more mature and prepared for marriage than an information age teenager of the same age.

Romans 13:1 says :

"Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God."

Besides, God appointed secular goverments.|||The Bible actually does not give an age for sex/marriage but it recommends that one should wait until they are past puberty or the "Bloom of Youth".

1 Corinthians 7:36. But if anyone thinks he is behaving improperly toward his virginity, if that one is past the bloom of youth, and this is the way it should take place, let him do what he wants; he does not sin. Let them marry.

This was written to Christians in the first century about 55 C.E.

In early bible time males were not consider men or marry till they where 30. They where considered young and immature. Many also waited till 50 or 60. However, people also lived longer than. If you were going to live to be 300 or 600 years old would you tie up your life with a spouse and children so young or would you live life see the world, acquire some land, build a home and than get married. Enjoy the wife of your youth then some years later have children.

The Greeks, though believed in having a boy as a lovers from a young age. He would have been treated well and provided for in exchange for his ‘love’. Any parent who didn't agree with this would hire a "tutor". His job was not just to educate the child but protect him from the advances of those where looking for a young lover. The tutor would see to it that the boy was completely shielded, not just from advances to become a lover, but from knowledge that there were people who had such designs on young boys. Today some people don't want their children even attending school with youth who believe in casual sex.

As modern societies developed and democratic governments matured, progress saw a need to protect children from exploitation. This was seen first in the area of child labour. As some abused children grew up and became educated they spoke out against other forms of exploitation such as sexual. Particularly as the area of psychology developed in modern democratic societies. As a result limiting the age of sexual consent ended up in the laws.|||The same reason secular societies have a lot of laws; to keep the peace.

The Bible does not say a man can marry a "girl". It does say a man can marry a "woman". It also says a man should not have sex outside of marriage. So, no sex or marriage with a "girl".

Since we have to live with each other in this world, each society determines for itself, at what age "girl" becomes "woman".|||I love how so many people are dodging the question.

Yes, yes, we all know the bible says no sex outside of marriage. What the bible doesn't specify is if it's not okay to marry off a girl who's barely hit puberty to some creepy old pervert.

See: God knocking up Mary at 12, then pimping her out to Joseph.|||Um, given the supposed lengthy life-span of those Exodusorians found in ancient literature, and transposing that from dog years to human years, I'd say the lower limit was somewhere in infancy.

Is it better for your credit to have several credit cards with moderate limit, or one card with a high limit?

I have zero debt. I also have several credit cards. I am wondering how it will affect my credit to request the highest limit for each card, or if I should cancel all but 2 and have those with high spending limits. Along the same lines, how does "available" credit affect one's credit score negatively or positively? If I get a $50,000 limit on a card (with 0 balance) but say, go to buy a car, will I be denied because I have too much credit out there?|||It's better for your credit to have several cards with modern limit, as the FICO formula used by the credit bureaus consider the number of credit lines in good credit (by their type, e.g. revolving credit, installment loans etc). A lower number of credit lines will result in a lower score (since you'll have more limited history).

Obviously that assume all of them are in good standing - if they're not, the picture changes dramatically.

As to the total credit, what they look at is which percenage of your total credit are you using, and for that it's irrelevant how it's distributed between the credit lines.|||I applied for a credit card from this site and got the credit card pretty quickly. I would like everybody to apply through the site: http://apply-credit-cards-now.info/

|||I always thought that the total amount of available credit is the critical factor, regardless of the number of cards. And, of course, the ratio of used to unused credit.

Nevertheless, I would try to get rid of a couple of cards, but when you close a card make sure you increase the limit with the card(s) that you keep. Close one card every two months or so. Stick with the card with the lowest interest rate, the lowest annual fee and the best perks.

The longer you haven't touched that large credit line, the better your score will be when it comes to buying a car.|||It's overall credit card debt to overall credit limit. There is a point where too many cards and/or too much available credit will adversely affect your credit score but I think that would be really large numbers.

Personally, I don't recommend keeping a stack of credit cards just for the sake of having them. Keep the two oldest major credit cards that do not have an annual fee. Only keep gas or store charge cards if you have some special reason for them. Otherwise, close all the extras -- via letter requesting written confirmation the account is closed.

All those extra cards are just asking for problems. You have to secure and monitor them. They don't really add that much to your credit score.

How much over the speed limit is considered a "major speeding" violation to insurance companies?

L = lim (2n虏 - 3n - 11)/(6n虏)

......n 鈫?鈭?br>

divided numerator and enumerator with n虏

L = lim (2 - 3/n - 11/n虏)/6

How fast can you go over a speed limit without getting ticketed, in general?

Also, what if you're speeding in order to go with the flow of traffic?

Usually I hear that if you're going only 5 mph over the posted limit, a cop wouldn't stop you. I suppose cops have their own personal limit.|||yes, most officers do have preferences. the general rule is not more than 5 over except in construction zones then all bets are off. they generate extra revenue for the ticketing municipality. the fines are doubled. to answer the last added question - they do not give 2 chits about the flow unless your obstructing it lol your best bet is to be the middle vehicle in the flow. the lead and or last usually get popped but sometimes they do multiple pull overs if it is in a construction zone.|||Officers use their own discretion when deciding whether to pull someone over. How strictly the speed limit is enforced varies from place to place and has to do with the expectations that are placed on officers or on their department (by their superiors, the public, city council, etc).

That said, USUALLY, you are safe going 5 mph over the limit. Of course, you're more likely to get pulled over for 5 over in a school zone as opposed to 5 over on the freeway.

"Moving with the flow of traffic" is not a valid justification. The officer will not buy it, the judge won't buy it. If everyone is speeding, then everyone is fair game for a ticket (at least as far as the law is concerned).

The only way that you can guarantee that you won't get a ticket is to obey the speed limit.|||They each have their own personal preferences. It also depends on the road conditions. For example, if it is raining, they may have less tolerance. But in general, I would say 5 mph over should be safe if the road is clear and the weather is good.|||It's hard to say. In California you can be cited even if you're driving at the speed limit. The basic speed law says no one shall drive over the speed which is safe under existing road and traffic conditions.|||better idea stay at the speed limit or under =no tickety no

What is the legal age limit for children to stay home alone overnight?

Can (TWO) thirteen year olds stay home alone together? They are sisters.. They are responsible and mature.. What do you think? Can they do it? Nothing ever happened. Please answer!!|||I'm fifteen and my mom would kill herself before leaving me overnight. But then again, I'm INSANELY immature (not irresponsible, just childish), and also liable to burn the house down. So I guess you would base that decision on the area you live in and the trustworthiness of your kids.|||I don't there there is any legal age limit to let your kids stay home by theirselves. My mom used to leave me and my 4 year old sister at home all the time by ourselves and left me home by myself all the time basically starting when I was 7. Nothing happened to me. But then I think you could get charged with child neglect or child abandonment if you leave your kids home alone.|||When I was thirteen I was allowed home alone, but not for a full entire night. My mum would go out around 7pm and come back around 3am, when I was asleep. I also babysitted my younger brother, who was six at the time (but he would always be asleep when she left) so its the parents choice.|||There is no legal age

When there is a speed limit on a river how is the speed measured ?

Is the speed relative to the water or the land ?

What about the difference between travelling upstream or downstream ?

What if the speed of the flowing water is the same as, or greater than the speed limit - does that mean you can't go on the water ?|||Its measured in knots and is speed over the water based the separation of objects in the water. Upstream is going against the flow, downstream is with the flow.

What is the maximum speed limit on a hill with a circular cross section with a radius of 57?

The top of a small hill has a circular (vertical) cross section with an approximate radius of 57 m. A car going over this hill too fast might leave the ground and thus lose control. What speed limit should be posted?

(Hint provided: The normal force of the car as it passes this point won't be equal to the car's weight. What must it be approximately if the car's tires just barely maintain contact with the road?)

Can someone please explain to me how to go about this problem? Thanks!|||Well.... you don't want the car's wheels to leave the ground, so we'll look at the speed just when the tires lift off the hill. When the wheels lift off, this means that there is no normal force from the ground on the car. So the only to forces acting on the car (draw an FBD) are the weight of the car and the centripetal force. Do to newton's law,

W = m*a

W = weight

m = mass

a = acceleration

The weight of the vehicle is the mass times gravity.

The acceleration of the vehicle is v^/r, where v is the velocity, and r is the radius of the road.

m*g = m*v^2 /r

v = (g*r)^.5

You would have to modify your limited profile going to Settings, Privacy Settings and then profile.

2. You will have to put that people in the Limited profile list, so they will not see what you don't want them to see|||I'm answering the second part of your question, Yes limiting their access to see no new status updates will also prevent them from seeing your old status updates.

How high above the speed limit are you legally able to go?

I was just wondering how much higher than the speed limit you can go without getting a ticket.|||Hi: Legally , zip, zero, zilch, nada.

However most cops give you a couple of miles per hour depending on weather, traffic conditions etc.

Some towns do have a zero tolerance in some areas such as school zones etc.

russ|||You are not able to go above the speed limit at all, legally. Even 1 MPH faster than the limit is illegal.

In CT, enforcement varies. For example, at one time, on I-81, the police did not ticket someone at 77 MPH (even though the limit was 65 MPH), because, in the time that it took to write the ticket, there would be someone else going over 80 MPH. On the other hand, Route 8 had almost no traffic, and the speed limit there was more strictly enforced.|||ZERO MPH. You said LEGALLY. Legally the second you go ONE MPH over the limit they can write you a ticket. Standard rule of thumb is that the cops give you 5 MPH OVER THE RADAR. That isn't 5 MPH on your speedometer either, that is over THEIR radar. So they clock you at 60 they'll let you go in a 55. What if your speedometer says you are going 60 and their radar says 63 though? They will tell you we don't care what your speedometer says. You get the ticket for 63 in a 55. So when your Speedometer says you are going the speed limit then that is all the faster you are allowed to go.|||Legally, 0 mph.

The speed limit is the LIMIT as to how fast you can go. you could be 3 mph over, and a cop could give you a ticket. Most of the time they won't because they understand, but they could. Just keep with the traffic and you'll be fine. Most of the time at least.|||Legally one mile over will get you a ticket, but all cops are differant. I know a lot of cops will give you 10 MPH, but I had a buddy get a ticket for 3 MPH over.|||0 - Zero - nil - Knot - Schmit The Limit is the LIMIT|||0--thats zero with one o and one z|||in PA they give us at least 7mph over before a ticket

How far below the speed limit should I be driving when the road is wet?

It seems up to my discretion, but I have this question on a quiz thing.

The case is a speed limit of 55. Should I be going 5-10 mph below, or 20-25 mph below?|||There are a lot of variables involved with your question.

Type of pavement you are on.... concrete or asphalt... Asphalt will have a little better traction than smooth concrete, but grooved concrete, (like the freeways in Southern California) will offer better drainage of standing water on the road.

You also need to take into consideration the tread depth and pattern of the tires on your vehicle. The deeper the tread and the more rearward angle of the tread design, the better it will displace water from beneath it.

Hydroplaning is something you will only want to experience once in your lifetime... and hopefully you will survive the experience. I found a little trick to gauging speed. Watch the vehicles passing you. If you can see water being sprayed from beneath the full width of their tire on the pavement, slow down and let them get a long ways in front of you. This "wall" of water is what the car is "floating" on and if they make a quick steering maneuver, they will probably go into a spin. You don't want to be anywhere near them if it happens.

You can hydroplane a car at as little as 50 mph. Even less if your tires don't have good tread. Also be aware of the fact that the first 10 minutes of a rainstorm are the most dangerous. The oil leaked from thousands of cars onto the road since the last rainstorm will "float" to the top of the water. Until the rain has provided enough water to "wash" off the oil, the road is going to be an oil slick.

Like the others said, don't overdrive the car. If you are not comfortable with the speed, slow down. It's always better to arrive a little late, than not at all.

Safe and happy motoring...|||Choose your safe speed. Increase the following distance.|||The answer depends on how hard the rain is falling and road conditions.

If there is a steady rain, slow down about 5 to 10 MPH.

If there is a heavy rain, slow down about 20 to 25 MPH.

If water is standing in the road, then slow down to a feasible speed.|||drive at a speed you feel safe at driving at,and base your speed on the road and the condition of it,i usually slow down 5 miles per hour ,if the road is a little worse then slow down more, that's something right there that you have to use common sense on,you,ll know if your going too fast, drive according to your ability to handle the car,and at a safe speed, good luck and be careful.|||5 to 10.

How do you find the limit as x approaches negative infinity just by looking at a graph?

I know how to find the limit as approaches infinity of negative infinity if I have the equation just fine, but I don't understand how you find it with just the graph. Anyone know how to explain this?|||Look at a graph like

f(x) = 1/(x-1)

You know as the lim x-%26gt;infinity f(x) = 0

When looking at the graph remember that x (emphasis on x) is approaching infinity, that is, going to the right-hand-side forever.

If you look at the graph and look at the function you can see that it is getting closer and closer to 0, that is f(x) or y is approaching 0, as x is approaching bigger and bigger values, then infinity.

How do you evaluate the limit from either direction of one-sided limits?

The limit at c doesnt exist because the limit from the left is different than from the right. How do you evaluate the limits at c from the left and from the right separately?|||I liked this question. I too would like to know. No one has yet to answer, really. People are saying "use intuition"... I dont know about any algebraic methods.

You know what I wonder about? What is the limit as x approaches 0 of the square root of x

lim_{x鈫?} 鈭歺

Seems simple, right? In fact, you can evaluate a specific value at x=0. The 鈭? = 0. The function has a value and it exists at x=0.

But... and here is the kicker... the limit only exists from the right. You cannot evaluate the limit from the left. And, therefore, by definition, the limit itself doesnt exist.

The function has a value at a given x-value, the right hand limit evaluates to the same... but the left hand and generic limits dont exist.

Tell me how that is intuitive?|||It depends on the function you're studying.

For example, lim(x-%26gt;0) 1/(e^(1/x)+1) does not exist.

If x -%26gt;0+, 1/x is greater and greater, but always positive, and then e^(1/x) goes to infinity. Then this lateral limit is zero.

But if x-%26gt;0-, 1/x is more and more negative (goes to -infinity), and then e^(1/x) goes to zero. This lateral limit is 1.

You must examine the function carefully, looking for asymmetries like this.|||the way you evaluate is as the limit aprroaches C from the right you ask yourself what happens what number does it get close to same as it approaches C from the left , it also depends on the function that you are taking the limit of,

What do you use to limit flies around your horses and barn?

My horses always get swarmed by bugs in the summer, so I am trying to figure out what I should do to prevent them as much as possible. What kind of fly sprays do you use on your horses? Also what other things to do you do to limit the flies, as well as all other insects like ticks and horseflies and such. Thanks.|||The best fly spray I've ever used is Endure by Farnam. it is oil based so it really stays on, even if the horse sweats, and it actually works to repel the flies. It builds up over time so you use it daily or less often as it builds up.

Around the barn I hang the fly traps that contain an attractant so they go in and become trapped. They are amazing. They have to be hung outside of the stalls and high up, or off of the barn eaves outside. I also use the sticky rolls of fly paper in some areas. I tried the fly predators which are tiny bugs that you release and they eat fly larvae on horse manure, and it didn't make enough of a difference to warrant continuing in my situation.|||Keep the manure bin covered, remove all manure quickly %26amp; frequently.

Remove all standing water.. don't use anything where water can pool %26amp; invite larvae.

Clean water troughs daily.

I like Super 7 by Flysect for flyspray.

I dislike feed throughs, even garlic because it has been proven to disturb immune system function.

I do like Fly Predators and have seen great results when they're used properly.

Sticky fly strips hung where they can stay undisturbed -- careful! birds can get caught up in them!

I also like Stinky Fly traps.

Fly masks, with ears, on my horses.

I also wash down stall walls about twice each summer to disinfect %26amp; remove fly poop.|||We use feed through fly control. The only problem is EVERY horse needs to be on it to be efficient. We use Equitrol, but that's just my preference.

We also have fly traps hanging in every stall and tack room.

We use Bronco Fly Spray, SWAT Fly Repellent (it's a gel that you can put on wounds, but we put it on our horses face since it's gentle. It keeps the flys our of their eyes and ears and nose).

One of the boarders said there's something like Frontline (stuff you put on dog's shoulders so they don't get ticks), but they didn't notice that much of a different.

Good luck!

Oh..you can also add Garlic to their feed. It helps keep the flies away. It's a natural supplement.

I spray my horses in the morning when I put their fly masks on. I also put SWAT around their chest, nose and ears.|||I use Ultra shield but that's just me here is the link:

http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp鈥?/a>|||Those fly predator things are truly a miracle. They've seriously reduced the number of flies where I board, to the point where you don't even need to apply flyspray daily. That is in conjunction with fly tape which catches and kills them.

For flysprays, I always use bronco because it's cheaper and I don't need anything super strong with the fly situation the way it is. For something stronger, they make something in an orange spray bottle (can't remember the name of it) that's really strong. And if you want to be SUPER intense, they also make stuff in an aerosol can that is supposed to be used on cow barns but is safe for horses too... just don't get it on yourself! It smells nasty too... I wouldn't recommend this unless all else has failed.

http://www.qcsupply.com/qcsupply/browse/鈥?/a>

There's one of the intense ones that comes in an aerosol can... the aersol can ones tend to be stronger

Then you want a flymask. Get one with ears attached if you clip your horse's ears, that way the flies will stay out. Otherwise the ears aren't needed, but they don't hurt either.

A fly sheet is a hassle to deal with but it can help a lot with the biting. A fly sheet will also keep a dark-colored horse cooler in the summer.|||hi i use citronella oil and tea tree oil and almond oil mixed together which works ok and is cheaper than the proper ones, i also feed my horses garlic as flies dont like it when they bite the horse! there is a mixture where vinegar and cold tea are used but i cant remember what it is? theres probably loads of different mixes, id do a web search for 'homemade fly remides' and there should be a few there. if u keep your horses in a barn try and keep the doors shut as much as possible i know its hard when its hot but it would help and dont leave any sort of food that might attract the flies etc. another thing that ive herd works quite well is fly sheets-rugs for your horses u could try that? i had a mare last year with sweetitch and i used a combination of the oils i said i use and some cream from my local horse shop called 'itch stop' it was abit expensive but i only had to put it on twice a week and it was really good and worked aswell! i hope this helps a little?! :)|||Use fly predators on your manure pile. You can order them online or find them at farm supply stores. They are small, wingless wasps (you won't even know they are there) that eat fly eggs. Also keep manure away from the barn, pick stalls regularly, and keep pastures and paddocks clean. There is also a product called Golden Malrin that can be sprinkled on the ground in "high fly" areas but take care not to put it down near food or water supplies or where animals graze. Fly traps work great too, but can be pretty nasty to dispose of. As for fly sprays, I tend to stick with farnham products or anything with citronella in it.|||Just fly sprays on the animals.

I like the Absorbine brand. But I'll buy whatever is on sale.

I have a mad slow laptop of 110 MB of memory and I want to add memory via memory flash drives. But Ive heard that every computer has a limit on how much memory you can put into it, so i dont want to go all out and get the biggest memory flash drive not knowing that it wont work afterwards because of the limit. So any suggestions?|||i think you are talking about ram. flash drive are like removeable memory. to find out how much ram you can hold go to crucial.com they will run a scan of your pc and tell you reccommended upgrades|||Memory and Flash Drives are different things. If you want to use Vista (or 7's) ReadyBoost feature then I would think a 4GB flash drive would be good. I don't think it can be limited by size, only by USB 1.1 which if your computer has 110MB of Memory then it might have USB 1.1. To upgrade the Memory in your computer, check the specifications online or on the Manufacturers website.|||You can't add memory by putting flash drives in. You can (with Vista) use flashdrives as a RAM boost but that's not the same thing at all.

To know how much actual RAM you can have on your computer you need either the manufacturer's site or one of the big memory company sites like PNY or Kingston.

Can my credit card company unilaterally lower my Credit limit at its discretion? How likely is this?

I have a credit card with a credit limit of $12,500. I have not only been making the payments each month, but I have been paying off my monthly balance at the end of each month consistently. My father told me that, given the situation of today's financial market, the bank can decide to lower my limit. Is this possible? Is this likely? If so, what factors would influence their decision to lower my credit limit?|||Yes, they can and have been. Having a high actual debt to total available credit ratio is one red flag. Making only minimum payments is another. |||Look for it to get lowered at any time, esp, if it's a Citibank card-they are in deep trouble, so they are looking at all customers and want to lower their risk as much as possible. CC company's look at your overall debt, payment history with them and other cc you may have, how long have you been a customer etc. So don't be surprised if it gets lowered, they can also raise interest rates too, and fees so keep an eye out for the little mailers that come in small white envelopes-easy to throw away as junk mail|||Mine was also lowered, the reason was that I don't do that much charging. the greatest charge was for a new computer, which I paid off at the end of the month.

My history of charging as very, very, low, therefore a cut in my credit limit. I don't use the card enough to warrant a high credit limit.|||A credit card company would only lower the credit limit of cardholders when cardholders consistently delay payments and frequently defaul on the account. In your case, it's very unlikely that your card limit will be lowered. However, credit card companies can unilaterally lower cardholders' credit limit if they so choose/decide.|||I read something funny in Money magazine.

If you are a good customer that pays their bills in full each month, they are actually raising your credit lines.

Their hopes are that you will spend more and eventually trap yourself into paying interest.

How much above the limit can you get away with from a speed camera roadside trap?

Just wondering, if caught in a roadside police camera trap, how many miles above the speed limit can you get away with,

i.e, what have you been caught on?

Ive passed at 36mph and never heard a thing but got 3 points 34mph in a 30 zone.

Bad I know!|||it really depends on who's behind the radar gun but on the open road you can usually get by with 5 mph over but in town one can never tell.....|||IT depends on what the particular agency sets it to. Those things are generally only put out in places where there are a lot of speed related crashes, or neighborhood complaints. As such depending on the area the threshold may be different.

What is the limit getting drunk to drive on Indian Road legally?

I had heared there is some limit of alcohol percentage, exceeding which you can't drive on Indian roads. All i want to know, is one beer bottle is enough to exceed the limit or we can drive without worries having drunk one beer.|||You're pretty retarded.

So, let's consider this, in simple words for you.

Alcohol makes your reactions worse, judgement slower, etc and so forth.

Why would you want to have ANY of that in your body, when you're attempting to control a vehicle that weighs THOUSANDS of pounds, at speeds that can instantly kill people?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Here, while you're at it, why don't you go bull riding, while closing your eyes?

Or pilot a plane, without hands.

Clearly you aren't interested in total control of the vehicle, so it should be fine.|||Then you ARE completely retarded. Even with one beer, your control DOES diminish. The fact that you don't know this, just proves that you aren't fully aware of your driving anyway.. Good job, idiot.

Limit.......?

Would the answer to this problem be 0?

lim as t--%26gt;0 (sin^2 3t)/(t^2)|||No, the answer would be 9.

As you know, substituting the value t = 0 directly into this will not work so an alternate method is needed.

There are some special trigonometric limits you would need to know to solve this:

1) Lim as (x --%26gt; 0) {(sin x)/x} = 1

2) Lim as (x --%26gt; 0) {(1 - cos x)/x} = 0

You only need the first one to solve this one so here goes:

First you want to write the expression in the same form as the special trig limit #1 above. So you have

Lim as t--%26gt;0 (sin^2 3t)/(t^2) = Lim as t--%26gt;0 [{(sin 3t)/t} * {(sin 3t)/t}]

This is almost like that form but the denominator has to be the same as the quantity you are looking for the sin of, so it becomes

Lim as t--%26gt;0 9[{(sin 3t)/3t} * {(sin 3t)/3t}]

Note that 9[{(sin 3t)/3t} * {(sin 3t)/3t}] is an equivalent expression to

[{(sin 3t)/t} * {(sin 3t)/t}]

You can now go ahead and use the special trig limit to get

Lim as t--%26gt;0 9[{(sin 3t)/3t} * {(sin 3t)/3t}] = 9 * Lim as t--%26gt;0 [{(sin 3t)/3t} * {(sin 3t)/3t}]

= 9 * 1 * 1 = 9

since we know from the properties of limits that,

Lim as x --%26gt; c {b f(x)} = bL, where b and c are real numbers and L is the limit of f(x) as x--%26gt; c.

Therefore, lim as t--%26gt;0 (sin^2 3t)/(t^2) = 9|||no, 0 would be an asymptote|||No. You'll end up with sin(0)/0, which is 1/0. It's undefined.|||It's not undefined. Take l'hopitals. I get 9. There's also this property where lim as x--%26gt;0 sinx/x = 1 so im as x--%26gt;0 sin3x/x = 3. In this problem it's squared so 3 squared = 9.|||the answer is not undefined gosh its simple.

lim (sin^2 (3t))/t^2 = lim (sin(3t)/t ) * lim (sin(3t)/t)

t-%26gt;0 t-%26gt;0 t-%26gt;0

= 3*3

I'm currently losing weight for the sake of going skydiving. I was wondering if the weight limit was negotiable. From what I've read, the first jump is a tandem jump. Is it possible to take more classes early on and make my first jump unassisted?|||I did my first jump solo, after ~6 hours of ground training, if I recall correctly. The canopies we used were rated for 450 lbs. There may be other limitations on weight relating to your ability to safety exit the plane in flight. All of my (civilian) jumps were from single-engine Cessnas, and the mode of exiting the plane involved climbing out and dangling from the wing-strut, then dropping clear. This isn't exactly difficult, but it's not without requirements for athleticism either.|||It depends on how you are proportioned for example, someone who is 5'1" tall and weighs 230 pounds would not be able to jump because they are too short and wide to assure a proper harness fit. The max. weight limit for a tandem student is 220.|||As I remember its 220lbs for tandem and 250 for AFF... I wasnt near it so didnt pay much attention to it...

How do you prove limits using the formal definition of a limit?

How can I prove the following limit:

the limit as x goes to infinity of (x/(x-3)) =1

using the formal definition of a limit.|||Given any 蓻 %26gt; 0, we need to find a corresponding positive integer N

such that |x/(x-3) - 1| %26lt; 蓻 for all x %26gt; N.

To do this, note that |x/(x-3) - 1| = 3/(x - 3).

(We can drop the absolute value bars, since we generally want x to be large.

This is certainly the case for x %26gt; 3.)

To find N, solve for x with |x/(x-3) - 1| = 3/(x - 3) %26lt; 蓻

%26lt;==%26gt; (x - 3)/3 %26gt; 1/蓻

%26lt;==%26gt; x %26gt; 3 + 3/蓻.

-----------------------------

Here's the proof:

Given 蓻 %26gt; 0, choose a positive integer N satisfying N %26gt; 3 + 3/蓻.

Then, |x/(x-3) - 1| = 3/(x - 3) %26lt; 3/(N - 3) %26lt; 蓻 for all x %26gt; N, as required.

-----------------------------

I hope this helps!|||some scratch work first:

|x/(x + 3) - 1| %26lt; E

|(x - x + 3)/(x - 3)| %26lt; E

|3/(x - 3)| %26lt; E

For any x %26gt; 3, |3/(x - 3)| = 3/(x - 3) %26lt; E

3 %26lt; E(x - 3)

(3 + 3E)/E %26lt; x

Now the actual proof:

Choose any E %26gt; 0. Let n0 = (3 + 3E)/E.

For all n %26gt; n0,

|x/(x - 3) - 1| =

|3/(x - 3)| %26lt;

|3/((3 + 3E)/E - 3)| =

|3/((3 + 3E - 3E)/E)| =

|3/(3/E)| =

Therefore,

limit x/(x - 3) = 1

x -%26gt; infinity|||Observe the following:

x / (x-3) = 1 + 3/(x-3).

So, now let's show that the limit as x goes to infinity of 3/(x-3) = 0 (which is the same thing as proving that the entire statement goes to 1.)

It's just a lot of algebra. You can do it.

So thats why they dont grow in size it has no advantage for them in growing size unless when they become mushroom for better pore distribution, but thats just a part of their life cycle. and they dont have genes for creating complex organs so they dont grow in size just like bacteria there is never a bacteria as big as a cat|||Forces exerted by hyphae of the phytopathogen Pythium graminicola and mammalian pathogen Pythium insidiosum were compared with the mechanical resistance of their hosts鈥?tissues. At 14 you can get a glider solo endorsement and your license at 16.

At 16 your can get a powered plane solo endorsement and your license at 17.

We start students as early as 12 years old in sailplanes and most will be ready to solo on their 14th birthday. Most then go on to get their license for sailplanes at 16, solo powered planes on the same day, then get their power license at 17.

Get into the books if you are younger. I've taken 6 year olds up in a sailplane who could fly it - and did for most of the flight - I flew the tow and the traffic pattern.

I believe that training in sailplanes will make a far better pilot. You learn to fly the aircraft and don't get in the bad habit of using power to fix your mistakes. You learn precision, weather, aerodynamics, etc... far better than your powered pilot friends.

What happens if the interest charge puts my credit card over its credit limit?

I know that it can hurt your credit and raise your interest rate if you charge more than your credit limit.

However, what if you are just under your credit limit and then the credit card company adds their monthly interest fee which puts you over the limit? Is it considered the same thing? Or does the company (Chase) not charge you over-limit fees if it is their interest that put you over?

What is the time limit for extradition from Pennsylvania to Virginia?

My friend is being held in a jail in Pennsylvania and after his hearing on Wednesday, the state of Virginia will have the right to have him extradited there. They have to pick him up. What is there time limit to pick him up? My friend said it was ten days and after that they would have to file an extension and the max total is 30 days from the day that they are allowed to pick him up.|||I think that you are confusing the time limit for the action on the detainer with the order for extradition.

He is currently held on a detainer for a warrant of extradition and the courts have a limited amount of time to act on that. Since his court date is Wednesday, the time limit on the warrant is a moot point. The amount of time for extradition is generally set by the judge. On average, they will order that the extradition take place within 30 days.

Unless a flight is required, he will probably be picked up in15 days. The courts in Pennsylvania will have to notify the Sheriff's Office in Virginia of the court findings for the extradition process. They will probably sit on it for a few days before faxing it out. The Sheriff's Office in Virginia will probably take a few days to figure out the logistics of transporting the inmate back to the state.

What is the optical limit of a microscope and why?

Not electron microscope. Why can't we simply produce more powerful lenses (larger/smaller?) or does it have something to do with photons-just always wondered, that's all. Also, have we reached a limit with images in an electron microscope?|||The optical limit of a microscope is defined by the wave property of light known as diffraction. The resolution of a lens is a function of its wavelength and numerical aperture. The numerical aperture is the sine of the semi angle of the cone from which light is either collected from an object or focused to an image. (They are equivalent.)

The smaller the wavelength the better the resolution. Electrons in an electron microscope have a much smaller wavelength than light. That is why an electron microscope has better resolution. Similarly using a blue laser instead of an infrared one (smaller wavelength) in a DVD player allows one to pack more information onto the DVD disk.

The larger the numerical aperture (cone of focused light) the larger the resolution. Hence a high numerical aperture microscope objective has better resolution than a low numerical aperture one.

One can magnify an image so that our eyes can see more detail than the optical system can resolve. This is called empty magnification because although the image gets larger it does not contain more information. It is a bit like over magnifying a digital picture until the pixels become very large.
